PROJECT


The project Island of Sculptures of Pontevedra is the first one that carries out in Spain a s a  permanent transformation of a real landscape acroos the current art. Twelve artists have been invited to realice specific projects for the island, and each of them has designed a work that is interrelated with the landscape, whith the tradition of the place, whith the history of the sculpture and of the stone, and very specially with the essence of the man and his relation with the nature.

The stone, present material in all the sculptures, the survival of the path as route and as meeting culture, and the idea of freedom and difference, fill conceptual this project, staying the sculptures permanently incorporporated into the space, creating the first island of sculptures of Spain, and one of few ones and already historical international iniciatives of similar characteristics.
